At Badgehurst Training Ltd we have a dedicated programme of support for people who want to train to care for animals receiving treatment in a veterinary practice.
People will be employed in a veterinary training practice where they will receive on-job training. They will also be required to attend off-the-job training (normally at a college) on a part-time basis. They will work towards NVQ Level 2 and 3 in Veterinary Nursing, covering aspects such as anatomy and physiology, nursing care, assisting the Veterinary Surgeon during surgical procedures, radiography, supporting and advising clients. They will also cover key skills such as working with others and health and safety at work.
The requirements for entry to the course are five G.C.S.E's (Grade A* - C) including English, Mathematics and Science or two Science subjects. (There are other entrance routes - Badgehurst Training Ltd will be able to advise you).
Once qualified, the prospects for people in this profession are exciting and far-reaching. There is always a demand for qualified Veterinary Nurses, both in the United Kingdom and abroad.
