The Apprenticeship in Amenity Horticulture will attract anyone who is interested in the construction and maintenance of designed landscapes and who likes working outside. It offers a huge range of opportunities, including branches such as soft and hard landscaping, private gardens, sports turf and golf greenkeeping, cemeteries and graveyard maintenance.

On the Apprenticeship, people will study for NVQ in Amenity horticulture, which includes topics such as ground preparation, establishing and maintaining plants, and using and maintaining equipment. The learner will also cover a range of key skills, including communication and working others, as well as transferable skills such as health and safety.

Once qualified, career prospects are excellent, including opportunities for progression to further learning, research, management or owning your own business.
